February the 27th.
Our return to hope focuses on the tools we have been given to make it happen. As Lent began, we heard that we are called to prayer. Scripture told us how Adam and Eve conversed with God. At its root, that is what prayer is: a conversing with God. Our return to hope invites us to look carefully at this.
Sometimes we are inclined to say we ought to pray more. But more practically, we might say, we should pray better. This Lent, take some time to look at the prayer you have, whatever it is. How can I make improvements? More attention, less distractions. Focus on what I am doing and why I am doing it.
God is interested in quality, not quantity.
A few minutes well spent can bring rewards we may never expect.
