May the 15th.
Scripture today introduces us to a woman named Lydia. She was a businesswoman in a world where women had little prominence or position.
She evidently was also someone searching for the truth and meaning to guide her life.
She heard the preaching of Paul. She saw value and promise in it. She invited him to bring his message and his ministry to her house. She wasn't interested only in herself. She shared it with her household and through her offer with her fellow citizens. She found hope. She made hope available to others through her offer and her life.
What a good example for us as we draw our return to hope to a close.
