April the 13th.
Throughout all the scriptures that recount the resurrection story, we meet Jesus explaining to his disciples why the Messiah didn't conform to what they had come to expect him to be. He teaches them that he is totally different, and in fact, far better than they expected.
Some 2,000 years later, he still has to explain to us why things aren't as we imagine or think they should be
As then, so now, this reality of God's plan is far better than we dare to imagine. It takes faith on our part to accept this. Our Easter celebration deepens this faith and nourishes this hope.
Risen. Lord, thank you for dying and rising to save me.
