Listen As A Podcast

   April the 4th.

We continue hearing from St. John the events of that first Holy week. Both Judas and Peter are confronted by Jesus. Judas leaves the group, betrays Jesus and despairs. Peter remains with the group, subsequently denies Jesus, but then repents.

As we reflect on the scene, we can all find a bit of ourselves in the actions of each of the apostles. We each have made bad choices. Like Judas, we thought that everything would turn out all right. Like Peter, we thought we would never fail Jesus, but then found ourselves guilty of our weakness.

Our journey of return to hope has given us new strength to make better choices and not to let weakness overcome us as it did with Judas.

Lord, thank you for your mercy and love.
