Listen As A Podcast

  March the 26th.

On this Fifth Sunday of Lent this year,  the Church focuses our attention on Lazarus. He and his sisters were friends of Jesus. His death brought sorrow in grief to his family and friends. Matthew tells us that Jesus, as fully human, shared that feeling and.

Yet. Matthew also tells us that as Messiah, Jesus saw in this moment how it showed the divine plan of salvation. His words of prayer to His Heavenly Father portrayed this.

As we move forward toward Holy Week, it gives focus to our journey. It is a source of hope. We all experience the emptiness that death brings. We encounter death in many ways. Scripture points out that Jesus knows our experience.

He will not abandon us.
